Hey back atcha! :)
I really should thank you (repeatedly) for the post I referenced over at Antiprincess'. It literally summed up almost every problem I had with my friend's argument. And, of course, now I can't find it again.
But it was literally a moment of "oh good, it's not JUST my friends that agree with me - people out in the wider world think it's kind of insane too".
Especially when someone else confirmed that it sounded like an ex-alcoholic proclaiming that ALL ALCOHOL IS BAD, EVER, NO MATTER WHAT OR IN WHAT CONTEXT.
Which is exactly the impression I was getting from said friend.
So!
Hopefully I'll not make too much of an ass of myself. :)
